A Precise Fitting Formula for Gravitational Wave Spectra from Phase Transitions

Description

This study provides a more precise fit function for the gravitational wave (GW) spectrum from phase transitions, improving on the widely used single broken power law. The new fit function, based on the sound shell model, features a double broken power law with two frequency breaks corresponding to inter-bubble spacing and sound shell thickness. This fit more accurately captures the GW spectrum over a range of hydrodynamic parameters. Detailed scans of phase transition strength ($\alpha$) and bubble wall velocity ($v_w$) are performed, offering physical interpretations of the results. The study highlights the dependence of fit parameters on these hydrodynamic parameters.
