Description
The muon collider target must accept extremely intense proton beams and efficiently produce secondary pions. These pions, which span a broad momentum spectrum, must then be captured and transported to a decay channel. In this presentation, I will introduce recent developments in high-power target systems for various accelerator applications and discuss potential design options for muon collider applications. I will also review conceptual approaches for pion capture magnets.
